This work presents the results obtained from the evaluation of water quality at several points along the San Pedro River located in Aguascalientes city (Mexico). Specifically, the sampling carried out according to the methodology reported in NMX-AA-014-1980 standard and some parameters cited in standard NOM-001-SEMARNAT-2021 were quantified in the water samples. This study showed that there are variable levels of pollutants at the sampling points, finding high concentrations of organic matter, phosphates and nitrates, which could affect the aquatic ecosystems. Meanwhile, parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity, temperature and some heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Fe, Cr, Pb, Cd, Hg, As) were found below the maximum permissible limits. The results provide valuable insights that can be crucial for developing effective water strategies in water management and the preservation of water resources in the region.
