Author information

Generalities
Authors must follow the guidelines and recommendations indicated on the journal's website when submitting their work for consideration. Papers that do not meet the required criteria will not be processed. The Editor reserves the right to reject received papers that do not comply with the guidelines or any other requirements (see others considerations).
All communications, submissions, and/or inquiries should be sent to the Editor of "Avances en Ciencias e Ingeniería" at the following email address: editor@acijournal.cl
The journal accepts submissions in both Spanish and English. Authors whose native language is not Spanish or English are encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed before submission.

To submit an article, you can start the process by clicking "submit an article" on the website (and follow the instructions) or send it directly to editor@acijournal.cl. The document must be in WORD (MS Office) and PDF formats, along with a cover letter (instructing the Editor that the manuscript is being considered for possible publication in the journal). This letter must include the formal Ethical Commitment stating that the work has not been published or is being considered for publication in another journal, and the suggested reviewers (including name, institution, email, and ORCID). You must also send the ORCID information of the authors of the article. In addition, proof of payment (an essential requirement) must be attached, according to the number of pages.

Regarding the file size to be submitted, the manuscript (including text, figures, tables, formulas, and/or mathematical expressions) should not be excessive (whether in WORD or PDF format). Figures must be in jpg format.

Only complete works will be accepted, with an extension between 5 and 25 pages, adjusted to the standards and with defined sections that are standard in all publications (Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, etc.).
The author will be responsible for the quality and originality of his or her manuscript. He or she must also guarantee that the contribution is original and has not been previously published, which exempts the publisher from liability (see others considerations).
Since the papers will be peer-reviewed, and considering that the subject matter of the manuscript is within the author's domain, it is essential that the authors suggest possible reviewers for the paper (at least four). These reviewers should not belong to the same institution as the authors of the paper, and, to the extent possible, should be from other countries. The information to be sent by suggested reviewers is as follows: reviewer's name, institution, country, email address, and ORCID. The paper is sent for review to at least three reviewers designated by the Editor (these may or may not be some of those suggested by the authors, depending on their relevance). Once the comments and reviews are received, the accepted papers are sent to the authors for appropriate corrections. The names and affiliations of the reviewers are kept strictly confidential.

Only articles that comply with the requirements for article preparation (submission of article, cover letter and ethical commitment, suggestion of evaluators and respective accredited payment) will be submitted to the evaluation process (Evaluation of Articles and Final Versions).
For communication purposes, it is recommended that authors provide two email addresses, to minimize any problems that may arise when receiving emails.
