Author information

General information

Authors must follow the guidelines and recommendations indicated on the journal's website in order to submit their work for consideration. Papers that do not meet the requirements will not be processed. The Editor reserves the right to reject papers received that do not comply with the guidelines or any other requirement (see other considerations).

All communications, submissions, and/or inquiries should be sent to the Editor of Avances en Ciencias e Ingeniería at the following email address: editor@acijournal.cl

The journal accepts publications in both Spanish and English. Authors whose native language is not Spanish or English are advised to have their manuscripts reviewed before submission.

To submit an article, you can start the process by clicking “submit an article” on the website (and following the instructions) or send it directly to editor@acijournal.cl. The document must be in WORD (MS Office) and PDF format, along with a cover letter (indicating to the Editor that the manuscript should be considered for possible publication in the journal), which must include a formal ethical commitment that the work has not been published or is being considered for publication in another journal, and suggestions for reviewers. The ORCID information of the article's authors must also be provided. In addition, proof of payment must be attached (mandatory requirement), according to the number of pages.

Regarding the size of the file to be sent, care should be taken to ensure that the weight of the manuscript (including text, figures, tables, formulas, and/or mathematical expressions) is not excessive (whether in WORD or PDF format). Figures must be in JPG format.

Only complete articles will be accepted, ranging from 5 to 25 pages in length, complying with the guidelines and containing the standard sections found in all publications (Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, etc.).

The author will be responsible for the quality and originality of their manuscript. In addition to ensuring that the contribution is original and has not been previously published, which exempts the publisher from liability (see other considerations).

Considering that the papers will be evaluated by peer review and that the subject matter of the manuscript is within the author's area of expertise, it is recommended that authors suggest potential reviewers for their work (at least four, including their name, institution, email address, and ORCID). These reviewers should not belong to the same institution as the authors of the paper and, as far as possible, should belong to other countries. The work is sent for evaluation to at least three reviewers appointed by the Editor (who may or may not be among those suggested by the authors, depending on their relevance). Once the comments and evaluations have been received, the accepted works are sent to the authors so that they can make the necessary corrections. The names and affiliations of the reviewers are kept strictly confidential.

Only articles that comply with the requirements for article preparation (submission of work, cover letter and ethical commitment, suggestion of reviewers, and respective payment) will be submitted for evaluation (Evaluation of Articles and Final Versions).

For communication purposes, authors are advised to provide two email addresses to minimize any problems that may arise with receiving emails.
