ARTICLE EVALUATION

The articles received will be reviewed by international peer reviewers, who will assess the relevance of the manuscript's content and validity. For this purpose, they should use a standard form to write their comments, including suggestions for the authors. The Editor will ensure compliance with the standards of Avances en Ciencias e Ingeniería.

Articles received must meet the requirements stipulated in the standards. Once verified, they are sent for review (to four reviewers). The selected reviewer is asked to perform the refereeing duties and is sent a copy of the work (in PDF format and with numbered lines). The reviewer must complete a form, in which they provide their impressions and suggestions, according to the items contained in the form. Approval of an article is determined by at least two positive evaluations. If two different evaluations are received (one approving and the other rejecting the work), the third evaluation is awaited, or the article is sent to a new referee (if the third evaluation is not available), so that the Editor can make a decision. If a work receives two or more negative evaluations, it cannot be published. The name of the reviewer (and their affiliation) is not revealed to the authors. The reviewer is sent a certificate of completion for their work. Additionally, the journal's Editor makes some suggestions on certain aspects, which are presented in the work. The author is sent the reviewers' report and the edition made by the Editor.

The reviewed and accepted papers will be sent to the authors for any necessary modifications. Once this new version is received, the changes are reviewed based on the comments and observations from the reviews. Papers that meet all requirements will be assigned to the respective issue and volume of the journal. The assignment will be in strict order of receipt. Once the article is published, the author will be notified.

FINAL VERSIONS

Once the authors have made the changes, they must submit a copy of the corrected article (in DOC and PDF formats) and a letter explaining the changes made (both addressed and ignored, with due justification) based on the reviewers' observations. The format of this letter is flexible (it can be in table or prose form), but it must clearly specify who the response is to (the Editor, Reviewer 1, Reviewer 2, etc.). The approximate deadline for submitting the corrected version is one month. After this time, if the corrected version of the manuscript is not received, the author will be considered to have withdrawn the work from the process. However, due to various reasons why the submission of the corrected version may be delayed, the author may request an extension, stating the respective reasons for such a situation.

PUBLICATION PROOFS

Once the corrected version of the article is approved, formatting aspects (e.g., the presentation and placement of figures and tables) will be reviewed to improve the presentation and impact of the publication. The same applies to the first page of the article, where the abstract, titles, and keywords will be verified in Spanish and English. The Editor reserves the right to make any changes they deem appropriate, without affecting the substantive content of the article. Once the review is completed, a copy will be sent to the author for approval.
